The Chail sanctuary can be best viewed while trekking as the uneven land does not allow to take a jeep safari in the park. The staff and forest official of the wildlife sanctuary are very helpful and in case of any problems you can seek their help. They also encourage trekking, so that the animals and birds can feel safe and secure.

Attraction in The Park:
Here you can get glimpse of animals and birds like barking deer, red deer, silver- white oak, barking dear, Indian hare, yellow throated marten, Indian porcupine, common Langur, leopard, rhesus macaque, Himalayan black beer, ghoral and cheer pheasants, khalij pheasant and Sambhar which are worth seeing.
Apart form the animals and birds, the main tourist attraction of Chail sanctuary is the Chir breeding farm. The Chir pheasant breeding and rehabilitation programme was introduced in 1988. This center has helped increase in number of Chir birds in the forests. Many tourists come to the Chir Pheasant breeding centers situated at blossom and Jhajja. The forest in Chail sanctuary mainly includes pines and oak tress. The northern slopes are forested while southern slopes support grasslands, generally with patches of forest or scrub in the depressions. Grasslands are retained by regular burning and cutting of plants. The sanctuary region also includes a little mature forest. The forest is mostly confined to the northern half of the Chail sanctuary. The grassland of sanctuary also has some small stretch of oak, pine cedar and robinia.

You can reach Chail sanctuary form Shimla and Chail. From Shimla Chail sanctuary is 40 Km away and from Chail it is 3 Km away. You can reach Shimla through airways as well as railways.
The forests in Chail sanctuary mainly comprises of Pine and Oak trees. The northern slopes are covered by dense forests, while southern slopes support grasslands, usually with patches of forest or scrub in the depressions. The grassland areas are maintained very well as the plants are regularly cut and burnt. Rhododendron is commonly found in the sanctuary, while Cedar and Blue Pine have been sown in some areas. There is little mature forest and much secondary growth in these areas. The forest is largely confined to the northern half of the northern slopes, while southern slopes support grasslands. The grassland of the Sanctuary also has some small stretches of Pine, Oak, Cedar and Robinia.
This sanctuary that lies in the sub-Himalayan range of the mountains is full of Deodar and Oak trees. The sanctuary with its deep and dense woodlands, away from the crowded metros, attracts a huge number of tourists every year.
