Malpe Beach Udupi
Udipi is a small town which is quite popular in South India mainly due to its beaches and it also has a lot of religious importance for Hindus due to the eminent Krishna Temple here. People from all over the world visit this place to see the beautiful beaches of this city and due to the renowned ancient Krishna temple. Malpe is one of the famous beaches in Udipi. It is a natural port and is located at six kilometres to the west of Udipi city in Karnataka. The Malpe beach is a very popular tourist attraction. River Udyavara is the source that provides water to the virgin beach of Malpe. As, Malpe beach is a natural port it has always been a centre for commercial activities. During high tides Malpe or the Udyavara River is also used for navigation purposes for small cargo boats. Malpe also has three rocky islands.
Malpe beach is famous for its long stretches of golden sand, green palm trees, clear blue skies and azure waters. The breathtaking views of Malpe beach create a perfect mood to spend some leisure time on the shores of Malpe River. The best time to visit this place is between October and March. Malpe is well connected via rail and road. Udipi railway station is only 3kms from Malpe beach whereas the nearest airport is Bajpe Airport.
