Soamiji Maharaj Soami Bagh Samadh in Agra is situated in Dayalbagh in the outskirts of the city Agra.

History Related to It:

The construction of the Soami Bagh was commenced in1908 and people believed that the construction of the building will never come to an end. In fact many people argued that the monument is the "next Taj Mahal". One of the major tourist attractions of the monument is its carvings in stone that comprises of blending or colored marble. The marble of the tomb contributes to its brilliant appearance making it an extraordinary monument in India.

Soamiji Maharaj purchased Soami Bagh, where he used to perform spiritual practices there. Later on Soami Bagh became the abode to the Samadh of Soamiji Maharaj. Located adjacent to the mausoleum, there is Bhajan Gar the place where, Soamiji Maharaj carried out the spiritual practices during his lifetime; the Bhajan Ghar also houses satsang once per day.

Near the Soami Bagh Samadh there are some other buildings too. Bhandara festivals are celebrated here as a tribute to past Sant Sat Gurus and Satsang is from all over the world, come here to attend the festival. These buildings have provided the kitchen facilities for Bhandara festivals held at Soami Bagh several times every year.

Description of The Samadh:

The Swami Bagh Samadhi is mainly the mausoleum of Huzur Swamiji Maharaj (Shri Shiv Dayal Singh Seth) in the Swamibagh section, on Bhagwan Talkies to Dayal bagh road, in the outskirts of the city. He established the Radhaswami Faith. The devotees regard the Samadhi to be sacred.

The architecture of the tomb is worth for the tourists to have a look at it. The tomb is built with white marble and is a fine representative of Indo-Persian architecture. It is often referred to as baby Taj.

Radha Swami Samadhi is the head quarter of the Radha-Swami sect and attracts innumerable devotees every year. This 100 year old structure preserves the sacred ashes of the spiritual leader of the faith.

Akbar's mausoleum at Sikandra, and Fatehpur Sikri are two important historical tourist attractions near Agra. Sikandra is the representative of the Hindu-Muslim architecture. It is the great emperor Akbar's eternal resting place. Fatehpur Sikri was built by Akbar in 1564. The city is popular for holding majestic buildings like the tomb of Sheikh Salim Chishti, Buland Darwaza, Diwam-e-Khaas, Diwan-e-Aam, Jodha Bai's Palace, Birbal Bhawan and Panch Mahal,.

Agra can be visited throughout the year. However, you are not recommended visit the cuty during the months of summer, April-June and the monsoon, July-September. It would be ideal for you to visit the city during the winter season.
