This place is recorded as one the wettest place in Maharashtra. An average rainfall of a year here is about 750 cm of 269 inches from June to October.

Amboli by Roadways :Amboli is a hill station, which is well connected with the roadways to the cities in Goa and Mumbai as well. Panaji is near about 90kms away from Amboli. There is one special bus available daily form Panji to Amboli. However, there several buses from Panaji to Sawantwadi on the way to Amboli. Many tourists' buses are available from different regions to Sawantwadi. From Sawantwadi, frequent bus service is available to Amboli between 6am to 6pm every day. Daily, regular buses also run from cities like Kolhapur, Belguam, Pune, and Mumbai. From Mumbai, it is a distance of near about 525 km and bus fare will be around Rs. 1200/- per person. State transport buses are available and ply from the Ratnagiri, Belgaum, Vengurla, and Sawantwadi.
Amboli by Railways :The nearest railway station to Amboli is the Sawantwadi. It is located 30km away from Amboli. Well, Sawantwadi railway station is connected by broad gauge to many railheads in the state. From Sawantwadi, one can hire private cars to reach Amboli. However, you can also reach Amboli hill station from Kolhapur (124kms) and Sangli (148km) stations by taking Private cars. The nearest railway junction to Amboli is Miraj, which is located at a distance of 140 kms away.
