This camel breeding center is one of the largest in Asia. The farm extends over 2000 acres and is managed by the Central Government. The basic idea behind this camel breeding and research farm is to promote the concept of camel rearing and make it an economically advantageous option for the camel rearers.

The camel breeding farm of Bikaner breeds the finest camels in the country. The Indian Council of Agriculture Research founded it in 1984. it is also famous as the Government camel Breeding Farm. Various research and experiments are also conducted at the government camel breeding farm. The results of the experiments are used for camel breeding. Here local camel breeders like 'Rebars' or 'Raikas' are employed for breeding the camel. These are professional camel breeders since ancient times. These efforts are directed to make camel rearing more economical and advantageous. The camels bred in the research farm are sold in cattle fairs of Bikaner and Jaisalmner. Many people come to the breeding center to get good breeds of camel.
