The famous battle of HaldiGhati took place here between the Sisodias and the Mughals. There is a zigzag road that ascents for one km and leads you through several gateways to the main gate. The two chhatries or the cenotaphs are beautiful and they mark the spots where Jaimal and Kalla fell during the 1568 siege. There are some beautiful views over the town from the fort of Chittaurgarh.

Kalika Mata temple was originally built in the 8th century for the sun god. It was later converted into the temple for Goddess Kali.
Vijay stambh is a very huge nine-storey tower build by Maharana Kumbh in 1440 to celebrate his victory over the Muslim rulers of Malwa. This tower is 122 ft high and has a base of 10 ft. there are beautiful sculptures and carvings on the walls of this tower. The insides of the tower are carved with images of Gods, weapons and other things.
Kirti stambh is another such tower, which is dedicated to Adinath who was the first Jain Tirthankar.
Rana Kumbh Palace is situated near Vijay stambh and is the birthplace of Maharana Udai Singh. This palace is very famous as Rani Padmini committed Jauhar with other women in one of the underground cellars.
