Gurgaon, the millennium city of India is located in the National Capital Region (NCR) of Delhi. Gurgaon lies in the state of Haryana and is a district in itself. During the last decade, Gurgaon has witnessed a sporadic growth in terms of real estate and economic development.
Gurgaon is one of the four satellite cities of Delhi. Due to its proximity to South Delhi it has been greatly influenced by the rich and wealthy people of Delhi who gradually started investing in Gurgaon real estate as an alternate investment. Before a few decades, Gurgaon was a normal city with a few industries. Maruti Udyog Limited was the first factory to start its factory in Gurgaon. After that a number of industries opened in the city.
Lately, Gurgaon has become the hub a number of major corporates and MNCs in India. Most of the big names in the field of Telecom, IT and BPOs have set up their corporate offices in this city. Due to emergence of big companies and MNCs, the city of Gurgaon got a new character.
From a village and agricultural city, Gurgaon emerged as a corporate hub and cosmopolitan city. Real estate boomed and Gurgaon soon became replete with modern housing societies and huge independent bungalows. Gradually, a part of Gurgaon developed as a modern city and came to be known as New Gurgaon. As opposed to the old Gurgaon, the new city became modern and world-class.

A Brief History of Gurgaon
Gurgaon has got its history deep rooted in Indian mythology. According to the epic of Mahabharata, Pandavas and Kauravas gifted this village to their mentor or "Guru" Dronacharya. Thus, the place was known as Gurgaon or "Guru Ka Gaon".

Malls:
A visitor's main attractions in Gurgaon are the shopping malls located through out the city. All the big malls are located on the Mehrauli Gurgaon road. Gurgaon can be termed as a pioneer when it comes to shopping malls in the NCR region. Due to the availability of ample land and proximity to Delhi, builders developed big and world-class malls in Gurgaon. A few big names are: MGF Mall, City Centre and Sahara mall. The malls are shopper's paradise as they house big brands and exhaustive shopping options.
Recently, India's largest mall known as Ambience Mall has opened in Gurgaon. Another mall that is worth seeing is the Gold Souk that has India's popular Jewelry brands under one roof.
Gurgaon's Skyline:
Builders have made world class buildings in Gurgaon. As soon as you enter the city you find an array of large buildings with latest technology and international level designs. These buildings have changed the skyline of Gurgaon and put the city at par with international cities like Singapore, Dubai and so on.
Some of the best buildings are DLF Square, Trinity Tower, Gateway and others.

Epicentre is new establishment in Gurgaon on the lines of the Habitat Centre in Delhi. Epicentre has been developed to give the city a platform for cultural and sociological interaction and growth. Epicentre is famous for theatre and classical dance performances.
