Deshnok is a small village in Bikaner district along the Jodhpur road in Rajasthan state. This is a sacred place which was formed by taking the corner land of ten nearby villages. There is a famous temple of Karni Mata which is very revered. Karni Mata is said to be an incarnation of Goddess Durga born to a Charan.
The temple of Karni Mata is the only place in the world where rats are worshipped and fed by the devotees. The temple is a house to a number of brown rats. The temple comes out live during navratras. A fair is held twice a year in and people all over the country pay a holy visit to the temple.
