Paramabikulam is like an oasis of peaceful greenery! It is located in a valley between the Ananmalai Ranges of Tamil Nadu state and the Nelliyampathy ranges of Kerala. Paramabikulam Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the south east of Palakkad town. This wildlife sanctuary is spread over an area of near about 277 sq. km. Paramabikulam Wildlife Sanctuary

A tree is very important attraction of Parmabikulam wildlife sanctuary, which includes a giant teak with near about 50m height. This teak tree is near about 360 years old. However, in the year 1994-95, Government of India has given Mahavriksha Puraskar (giant tree) to this abnormal tree.

Here, the climate in Parmabikulam wildlife sanctuary is hot and wet. This wildlife sanctuary receives an annual rainfall of near about 3645 mm. Moreover, the vegetation of the Parmabikulam wildlife sanctuary comprises of scattered patched of grasslands, thickly forest region, bamboos, sandalwoods, rose woods, teak, Kannimari teak. The Kannimari teak found here is known to be the tallest in Asia. For the visitors, visiting the trees is one of the prime attractions.
