You have to reach Wandoor beach in Mahatma Gandhi National Park. The beach is 30 Kms from Port Blair by road. 9.00 am is the usual time leaving to Jolly Buoy Island at Wandoor beach. Ships leave at the same time and come back together.

Jolly Buoy Island offers a remarkable sight of underwater marine and coral life. Glass bottom boats give you a closer look at the coral colonies. Its beach is golden shining having a shelter of hanging branches of thick bushes. Tickets at Jolly Buoy Island

Jolly buoy Island remains closed on Monday.

  • Adults' ticket costs about Rs. 50/ person. For children below 5 years no permit charges are there and ticket for children between 5 to 12 years is about Rs. 25/person.
  • You need to deposit a security amount against each plastic item and get the amount back after returning the same items.
  • To carry a still camera, Rs. 25 is charged extra.

Tourists can enjoy the island up to 2.00 pm and the return at 2.00-2.30 pm. There is no proper place for changing clothes. Take care of your belongings while enjoying in the sea. Avoid visiting this place during rainy days as there is no shelter. Carry some bed sheets or news papers that will help in relaxing at this place and also while eating. Clean the place before leaving it. Jolly Buoy Island is not opened throughout the year as it is protected for live corals.
