Activities in Neil Island
Sunset point is the west most point of the beach, west of the jetty where the guesthouses are. There are very hungry sand files, so take a hammock if you are planning to spend any time there. If you intend to snorkel directly west off the point, then there is some wonderful snorkeling.
If you intend to Snorkel near the beach with the caves and also off Havelock Island, take a private ride. If you are lucky enough, then you could also see mantas. Just get there in the morning, check the rock pools, snorkel and then bail in the afternoon.
Snorkeling is also very good around the jetty at the island. Edges of the shallow reefs possess some live corals, several different kinds of fish and lots of anemones with resident clown fish. You could also find a great variety of shells, but they are not supposed to be taken from the islands.
The main bazaar in the island has a few eateries which serve the usual Indian dishes. At the beach resorts, food needs to be ordered usually at least 2 hours in advance as the cook has to travel to the market, get the supplies and then prepare it.
