Kishangarh is a city in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan state. Kishangarh was founded by the prince of Jodhpur Kisan Singh in 1609. It is the birth place of the unique Kishangarh style of painting. This is known for the beautiful depiction of a courtesan who was a poet known as Bani Thani. The paintings are very attractive and painted on the background of pristine environment and lusting green landscapes.

The Kishangarh fort and the Phool Mahal also called as the palace of flowers are the major attraction. You can feast your eyes on the stunning vistas create by the vast lake near the majestic Kishangarh fort. You can spot some very rare birds here if you are lucky enough. Some very old and beautiful paintings are well preserved here. The typical characteristics of the paintings are the portraits of women with sharp profiles, long necks, slanted eyes, curly hair and aquiline nose.
A huge wall surrounds Kishangarh fort and there is a big moat around it. There are a number of monuments and palaces in the fort, which makes it a great place to explore.
Recently Kishangarh is known as the marble city of India. It is the only place in the world which has a temple of the nine planets or the Navgrah temple.
