Kodaikanal is one of the most popular hill stations. This hill station is located in the southern crest of the upper Palani Hills near the Madurai in the Tamil Nadu state, India. What to see in Kodaikanal

Kodaikanal Lake :

Kodaikanal Lake is the pride of the Kodaikanal town. However, this is the prime reason for the consideration of Kodaikanal as the princess of hill station. It is near about 3km from the bus stand of Kodaikanal. Moreover, it is a man made lake. It is situated on a 24-hectare land and 5 km around the lake. During the Day, rental cycle facilities and the horse back facilities are available here. However, there are number of boat club around the lake. The notable among them was the Kodaikanal boat club, which was established in the year 1890.

Kodaikanal School :

Kodaikanal School is located just across the Kodaikanal club. Kodaikanal School has a solid stone building. This school offers a pre- university curriculum in a 12 grades. School also prepares the students for the entrance to the Indian and worldwide colleges and universities. However, the selected students are also prepared to write the external exams of the international Baccalaureate, which is based in Geneva.

Bryant Park :

Bryant Park is located on the eastern side of the Kodaikanal Lake. It is mainly a botanical Garden which is named after Mr. Bryant (British Army officer) being the founder. This park is very famous for flowers, hybrids, and the rafts. However, varieties of flower are present here in a glass house.

Boat Club :

In the year 1910, a boat club was constructed. After the May 1929, tourists were allowed to avail the boat riding facility. Later, this facility was also extended to all the tourists. Here, boats like TTDC, Kodai Boats, and Carlton Boats are available for hire.

Shenbaganur Museum :

Shenbaganur Museum is situated at near about five kms from the Kodaikanal Lake. The maintenance of this museum is done by Sacred Heart College. It is one of the best orchidoriums in the country. It has near about 300 species of orchids and a wide range collection of birds too.

Coaker's Walk :

Coaker's walk was derived after Lt. Coaker, who has prepared the map of Kodaikanal. This place is situated at near about one kms from the lake. It runs along the steep slope on the southern side of the Kodaikanal. However, beautiful scenes of the plains can be seen from here.

Pillar Rocks :

Within the Kodaikanal city boundaries, one can see three boulders standing proudly which are known as Pillar rocks. This pillar rocks are near about 122 m long and it provides a wonderful panoramic view.

Silver Cascade Waterfall :

Silver Cascade waterfalls are situated in the Ghat road. It is near about 8 kms from Kodaikanal. The overflow of Kodaikanal Lake comes here from near about 180 feet high falls. Well, it is a good place to spend a few hours for watching the breath taking beauty of falls.

Kurinji Andavar temple :

The presiding deity at the temple is Lord Murugan. Temple is near about 3.2 kms from the Kodaikanal Lake. In Tamil, Kurinji means Hilly region and Andavar means God. From here, one can view the northern plians and Palani hills too.

Bear Shola Falls :

Bear Shola Falls is an ideal picnic spot. It is located near about 1.6 kms from the Kodaikanal Lake. Once, bears used to drink water above the falls, so the name came as Bear Shola Falls. The Path to this bear fall is quite rugged.

Telescope Houses :

To view the panoramic view of the valley and the near by town, two telescope houses are set up at KodaiKanal.
