The Tollygunge Club in Kolkata was established in 1895 in order to "promote all manner of sports". The prestigious club ranks among the top 20 clubs in the world and is the only national club in India. Occupying about 100 acres of sprawling green, the club is situated in the Tollygunge area, southern part of suburb Kolkata. The history of the club dates back to the reigning British era and offers unique facilities that may not be common in other clubs.
