Sight Seeing at Kaza:
The popular Monastery of Ki Gompa is located at a distance of 11 Kilometers from the Kaza hill station. This monastery is famous and the biggest monastery of the Spiti valley and almost 400 monks live over here. The monks of this monastery are busy in the construction and maintenance of the monastery and welcome all the donations. Kibber has the repute of being the highest village in the world at an altitude of 4250m. It is located at11 Km from the monastery of Ki Gompa. Thang Yud Gompa is located 14 Km to the north of Kaza, which is built by the Sakyapa Orden in sthe 14th centure A.D. Tabo Gompa is 45Km from the Kaza. This monastery was built by Great translator Ringchen Zangroo in 996 A.D and houses collection of some very pretty murals and sculptures.
Climate of Kaza:
Spiti is known as cold desert and does not receive rainfall. In winter the temperature of the place can drop below freezing point, when heavy woolens are necessary. In summers the weather of Kaza remains pleasant when light woolens are advised.
How to Reach Kaza:
The nearest airports to Kaza are at Kullu (250 Km) and Shimla (445 Km). After reaching airport you can either take bus or hire taxi to reach Kaza hill station. You can reach Kaza by road from Shimla (May to October) and from Manali via Kuzam pass (June to October).
Accommodation at Kaza:
PWD rest houses are also at Kaza for the guests, besides there are few private hotels for boarding and lodging of the tourists. It is a best place to stay in a calm and quite environment.

The Kaza markets are interesting destinations for food and hopping lovers. The market includes number of bookstores, music stores to delight your leisure activity. Tibetan markets of Kaza offers many preferential buys for tourists. Local tweed caps, Metalwork, Shawls, Tibetan carpets and pullovers are some of the wide range of hopping items which are available here. Pickles, jams, squashes are some other favored buys for tourists in the Kaza market. Handmade shoes, Woolen and Pashmina shawls, woolen caps, wooden sticks made by local artisans of Kaza are also available in the market. The specialty of Tibetan market of Kaza is Tibetan jewellery and trinkets.
