The majority of plants and trees found in the wildlife sanctuary include the teak, bejal, Indian Laburnum, Bamboo, Kumizh etc. The Moyar River of Tamil Nadu fulfills the need of water at Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary. Moyer River also forms the boundary between the Mudumalai and Bandipur.

The major wildlife attractions at this national park includes Tigers, Elephants, Gaurs, Leopards , Sambar, Mouse Deer, Chital , Barking Deer, Palm Civet, Small Indian Civet, Striped Hyena, Slender Loris, Common Otter, Indian Giant Red Squirrel, Black Napped Hare, Sloth Bear , Porcupines, Bonnet Macaque, Spotted Cat, Leopard Cat, Pangolin, Giant Fruit, Bats, Jackal and many more.

The reptile population found at the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary includes Flying Lizards, Rock Pythons, Turtle, and Monitor Lizard. Here, you can find a wide variety of snakes.

Birds at Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary :

Commonly found bird species at Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary include Honey Buzzards, Black woodpeckers, Malabar Pied Hornbills, Paradise Flycatchers, Gray Jungle Fowl, Red Spur Fowl, Serpent Eagles, Gray headed Firhings, Creasted Hawk Eagles, Racket Tailed Drongos, Shaheen Falcons and many more. Elephant Safari is organized by the Tamil Nadu Forest Department. The Safaris depart from wildlife sanctuary headquarters at Theppakadu.

Elephant Feeding Camp :

Elephant Feeding Camp is a place where one can interact with the elephants. One can also feed elephants.

Pykara Lake is situated at a distance of about 40 km from Theppakadu. The lake is very clean and has a Scenic view. Lake is situated between the hills. This lake is isolated, which is free from pollution and crowds. Moreover, boating is also conducted here.
