How to reach Mukteshwar

By Air: Mukteshwar doesn't have its own air strip. Phoolbagh in Pantnagar is the nearest domestic airport, which is located about 94 kms from Mukteshwar. Pantnagar is connected to Mukteshwar by metalled road. From Pantnagar airport, one can opt for a road journey. Pre- paid taxis are easily available from the airport and they charge about Rs.1700 from the airport to Mukteshwar. Daily flights connect Pantnagar to Delhi which is the nearest international airport and is about 353 km from Mukteshwar. Delhi is connected to most of the cities in India as well as abroad.

By Train: Nearest railhead is Kathgodam station which is about 73 km from Mukteshwar. Kathgodam is well connected to other major Indian cities, by rail network. By Road: Mukteshwar is well connected by motorable roads with major destinations of Kumaon and other cities of northern India. Buses are easily available from ISBT Anand Vihar to Haldwani, Nainital, Almora and Mukteshwar. Taxis are also available from major cities of Kumaon region and Garhwal region like Haldwani, Kathgodam, Nainital and Moradabad for Mukteshwar. State owned bus services connect Mukteshwar with other cities in the state. Many private bus service providers operate luxury buses from Delhi to Kathgodam and Nainital from where one can easily hire a taxi to Mukteshwar. From Delhi, it takes around 8 hours to reach Kathgodam from Delhi by bus. From Delhi, the route is from NH-24 to Rampur and then NH 87 to Ranibagh. From there, take the state highway to Bhowali and then another state highway takes you to Mukteshwar via Ramgarh. Mukteshwar is at a distance of 353 km from Delhi, 51 km from Nainital and 42 km from Haldwani. One can easily drive down to Mukteshwar from Delhi since it takes approximately 8 hours.
