The Hanging Gardens in Mumbai, India, also known as Ferozeshah Mehta Gardens are terraced gardens perched at the top of the western side of Malabar Hill, just opposite the Kamala Nehru Park. They provide sunset views over the Arabian Sea and feature numerous hedges carved into the shapes of animals.

Establishment:
Hanging Gardens of Mumbai was laid out in 1881 over Bombay's main reservoir. These are beautifully terraced and landscaped, and are also known as the Ferozeshah Mehta Gardens. Since the gardens were set up on the slope of a hill, they were named as the Hanging Gardens. These gardens are one of the best sites in Bombay from where one can have amazing views of the sun setting across the horizon of the Arabian Sea.
The gardens underwent major renovation in the year 1921. According to some people, the Hanging Garden was set up to cover the water from the potentially contaminating activity of the nearby Towers of Silence.
It was named after Ferozeshah Mehta, a famous barrister of the former times. This garden is a nice place to go for a stroll in the morning or evening when soothing breeze cuddles everyone in its gentleness.
Main Attraction:
The main attraction regarding this garden is that, it offers a lovely view of the sunset across the horizon of the Arabian Sea. Another interesting feature comprises of its several hedges that have been fashioned into different shapes of animals. Besides the above-mentioned features, one can see a striking flower clock in the middle of the garden. In 1881, Ferozeshah Mehta Gardens was laid out over the main reservoir of the Bombay city of India.

The gardens had been built in such a way that they look towards Colaba and offer a breathtaking view of the entire city. Visiting the gardens in the early morning or late evening makes someone feel rejuvenating amidst the picturesque locales and cool breezes. The specialty of this garden is that the edges have been cut into animal shapes and the flower clocks. There is a massive Shoe House made up of Stone just for entertainment and a good ride for children. This garden is one of the very famous and oldest gardens of old Mumbai

There is plenty to see on this rich hill. Not far from the Hanging Gardens, another attraction presents itself -- it is the Walkeshwar Temple, a truly spectacular and colorful place, first built by the kings of the Silhara dynasty who ruled Bombay from the 9th to 13th century. The Banganga Tank belonging to the temple was also first constructed at this time. The tank was rebuilt in 1715 out of a donation for the temple by Rama Kamath
Jain Temple also known as "Babu Amichand Panalal Adishwarji Jain Temple/Mandir" built in 1904 at Mumbai is also near the famous 'Hanging Gardens'. Then there is very famous Chowpatty beach Near Wilson College.
How to Reach:
One has to take a Taxi/Cab from Charni Road Station West or either from Grant Road Station West. It takes 15 to 20 minutes to reach with charges approximate between Rs.25 to 30. One can also catch Bus for Malabar Hill.
