Located at the pedestal of the Chamundi Hills is the grand city of Mysore. The city boasts of many feathers in its cap, namely; Mysore silk, magnificent palaces, colourful festivals, sacred temples and spectacular gardens. The busiest time in Mysore is during the festival season. It is the second largest city of Karnataka and is located at a distance of 146 kms from Bangalore. Connectivity via Air: Mysore doesn't have an airport and the nearest airport is located in Bangalore. Bangalore airport is located at a distance of only 140 Kms from Mysore. There are regular flights for all major cities of India from here and few international flights also operate from Bangalore. A taxi from Bangalore to Mysore would cost between 2500 to 3500 INR.

Connectivity via Rail: The Mysore Railway station is located in the city itself and has direct luxury and passenger trains operating on a daily basis. Though the ideal route to reach Mysore is through Bangalore but there are many trains running on a regular basis connecting Mysore to other cities of India. The super fast Shatabdi Express connects Mysore to Chennai.

Connectivity via Road: As Mysore is a place visited due to many reasons; there are tourists from all over the world who travel round the year to Mysore. Due to heavy tourist traffic, Mysore enjoys a convenient network of roads. Bangalore is only 3 hrs bus journey from Mysore. One would take the NH4 running across southern Andhra to reach Mysore. Though there are private tour operators in Mysore but mainly the bus services are run by KSRTC and other transport corporations of the nearby states. There are ordinary buses as well as semi luxury and luxury buses available in Mysore. There are buses available at every half an hour for Bangalore.
