Velankanni :

Velankanni is one the small town being situated ashore Coromandel Coast. It is near about 14 kms away towards south. Velankanni signifies as a special place in the pages of the Christian history of India. The most holy church known as the Arokiya Madha Church or the Velankanni Basilica is located in this town. Almost, all religion people offer their worship at this church. Here, annual carnival takes place in the month of August and September. This carnival is among the very famous affair.

Koothanur :

Koothanur is located at a distance of about 45 kms from downtown of Nagapattinam. Koothanpur is being associated with the life of the great Tamil poet i.e. Ottakkoothar. The place is very famous for its magnificent temple, which is dedicated to the same poet. However, the temple complex has a separate temple for the Goddess Saraswati. Goddess Saraswati is the Goddess of Learning and arts too.

Mannarkuli :

Mannarkuli is located at a distance of near about 56kms from Nagapattinam. This place is very famous for the Vaishanva Shrine, which is also called as Raja Gopalaswamy Temple.

Nagore :

Nagore is located at a distance of near about five kms North of Nagapattinam. The place is very well famous for a Muslim Sufi Shrine. Sikkal is located at a distance of about five kms from Nagapattinam. This place is very famous for the Singaraelan Temple. It is an old Shiva Temple where the Lord Muruga is being worshipped in the form of Singaravelan. However, Shivite Saints such as Manickavadagar and Appar Thirugnana Sambandar have evoked the place in their devotionals songs. Moreover, Sikkal is also famous for a festival called Soora Samharam. During the month of April Soora Samharam, festival is celebrated.

Vedaranyam :

Vedaranyam is located to near about 58 kms to the downtown of Nagapattinam. The place is very famous for the temple known as Vedaranyewarar temple. This temple is considered among the Saptha Vidanga Thallams. In addition, this place is of a great historical importance. During the Indian Freedom Movement, Vedaranyam was the center point in the southern India.

Thirukkuvalai :

Thirukkuvalai is also known as Tiruvarur. It is situated at a distance of near about 27 kms from the downtown Nagapattinam. Thirukkuvalai is also considered as one of the Saptha Vaisanga Thallams. Here, two well-known temples are located, which includes the Thyagaraja Swamy and Angalamman Temple.

Kodikkarai :
