Nanded is famous for Sikh Gurudwaras and is called as the Holy City. Millions of pilgrims visit the city of Nanded every year and seek blessings of Guru Granth Sahib. The main attraction in the city of Nanded is the Takhat Sachkhand Shri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib. It is the main Gurudwara and one of the highest seats of authority of the Sikhs. Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth spiritual leader of the Sikhs came here in Nanded in 1708. He declared himself the last guru and established the Guru Granth Sahib as the eternal guru of the Sikhs. The Granth is considered as a living Guru by the Sikh community. There is a monument where the Guru Gobind Singh breathed his last. Maharaja Ranjit Singh built the sacred temoles Takth Sri Patna Sahib and Takth Sri Hazur Sahib. The later is in Nanded and the Gurudwara features an imposing golden dome with intricate carvings. The artwork at the gurudwara in Nanded is breathtaking.

The Masjid of Biloli, water falls of Unkeshwar and man made Vishnupuri Barrage are other very popular tourist attractions in Nanded. The Masjid of Biloli is a popular place of worship of Muslims. Sarfaraz Khan who was a Siphasalar of the Mughals build it in the late 17th century. The hot water springs of Unkeshwar are supposed to be miraculous. They are known to have healing properties as they have sulphur and other skin rejuvenating properties.
There are other pilgrimage centers nearby like, Mahurgad and Vaijanath. Nanded fort and Kandhar fort are also places of tourist attraction in Nanded.

By Air: The nearest international airport to Nanded is the Hyderabad airport which is about 250 kms away from Nanded. Aurangabad airport is situated at a distance of 275 kms away. There are three weekly flights to Nanded from Mumbai. Nanded also has an airport which caters to the domestic flights. The Nanded airport is named as Shri Gobind Singhji Airport after the popular Guru. Kingfisher has flights to and from Latur, Mumbai and Nanded thrice a week.
By Rail: There are direct trains to Nanded from major railway stations in the country like Mumbai, Aurangabad, Patna, Pune, Amritsar, Srinagar, etc. Nanded is a rail junction for the route Nanded - Yawatmal - Wardha, connecting to Nagpur. Nanded is the divisional Headquarter of the Southern Central Railway. There is a new suburb railway station at Maltekdi which is very near to Nanded. There is a computerized railway reservation counter to facilitate the smooth pilgrimage to the Takth Sahib. There is also a special railway counter at the Gurudwara complex for online reservation. Sachkhand Express, Punjab mail, Goa Express, Jehlam Express, Devgiri Express, etc are some of the trains to and from nanded.
By Road: The city of Nanded is about 650 kms from Mumbai. It is about 11 hours drive from Pune and 4-5 hours from Aurangabad. There are a number of passenger buses to Nanded. There are also private deluxe buses and state travel buses to Nanded from all the major cities in the state.
