Maharaja Ranjit Singh constructed the beautiful Gurudwara of Nanded around 1835 AD. The Gurudwara has a gold dome and is decorated with intricate carvings. The artwork on the walls and the building of the Gurudwara is breathtaking. This place is known as Shri Huzur Abchalnagar Gurudwara. Eight other Gurudwaras are beautifully constructed along the banks of the river Godavari. All these gurudwaras are connected with the life of Guru Gobind Singh.
Mahur is a popular pilgrim center of the Hindus. It is one of the Shaktipeeths in Maharashtra state. The place has a beautiful temple of Goddess Renuka Mata. The temple is located on a hillock, amidst natural beauty. The temple was built by the Yadava kings of Devgari about eight to nine hundred years back. Kandhar fort is popular tourist place in Nanded. This fort has water ditch that encompasses the fort. The Rashtrakuta King Krishna of Malkhed built the fort of Kandhar. The fort was carved during the Nizamshahi period and the domes are of Ahmednagar style.
Nanded fort is located near the Nanded railway station. The most amazing thing about the fort is that it is surrounded by River Godawari from three sides. There are beautifully laid out gardens in the fort and the fountains add to the beauty. The scenic beauty of this fort in Nanded attracts tourists from all over.
Malegaon has a popular temple of Khandoba. A fair is held here every year and it is called as Malegaon yatra. The fair has a animal market and people from far off places come her e to trade animals.
Hottal is a place in Degloor Taluka. There is a very important Shiv Mandir here. The temple has some art forms from the Chalukya era that are carved out of stones.
