Coin museum is the only museum of its kind in Asia. However, it is the most famous destinations in Nasik for visitors.
Kalaram Mandir
Another major attraction in Nasik is the Kalaram Mandir. This temple is situated in the Panchavati area of Nasik city. It was constructed by Sardar Odhekar of Peshwa in the year 1790. This temple is the biggest and at the same time, simplest among all the temple being situated here. This temple is carved out of black stones. In addition, these stone were brought from Ramshej and about 200 years ago. Near about 23 lakhs rupees and 2000 worker were employed for the construction of this temple. The mount of Kalaram Mandir is made up of 32 tons of Gold.
Pandu Lena
Pandu Lena caves are situated near the Nasik city, India. It is situated at a distance of only 8km towards the south region. Pandu Lena is one among the numerous Buddhist caves, which were built in the country during the flourishing days of this religion.
RamKund/ Gandhi Memorial
It is believed that, here in Ramkund, Lord Rama bathed. Mortal remains immersed in this Ramkunda are absorbed in the water immediately. A dip in this kunda is considered very pious. Gandhi Lake or Talav situated near the Ramkund is a memorable monument built in the memory of the Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi. This monument is carved out of white marble.
Muktidham Temple
Muktidham temple is situated 7 km away form the center of Nasik city. This temple is built with a shining white makrana marble. However, the temple is very popular for its magnificent and unique architecture. The white walls of the temple have been adorned with the 18 chapter of the Gita. In the Hindu religion, it is been believed that visiting Muktidham temple holds a significance as visiting the four dhams or holy centers.
Someshwar
Someshwar is a village, which is located on the outskirts of the Nasik city and on the banks of River Godavari. Someshwar village is surrounded by lush greenery. The picturesque of village boasts of temple, which are dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Hanuman. Navasha Ganpati Temple is quite popular here. The weather condition of the village is pleasant. In addition, the village is popular for swimming as well as boating. In addition, it has been used as a shooting location for many of the movies.
Deolali Camp
Deolai camp is among the oldest military centers in India. However, it dates back to the year 1861.The main aim behind the establishment of Deolali camp was to provide a place where the mentally strained and worn out soldiers could take rest here. One of the major attractions here is Khandobachi Tekadi temple, which is visited by many devotees in a large numbers.
Artillery center
Artillery center of Nashik city is situated behind the Pandav caves. This center is regarded as one of the biggest artillery center in Asia. However, earlier it was situated in Pakistan but after the partition in the year 1947, it was shifted to Nasik. At this center, training is provided to soldiers and officers of the Indian Army. Moreover, army officers are taught to handle the 'Bofors Gun'.
Panchavati
Panchavati is a place, which is situated in the northern part of Nashik. According to the legends, Lord Ram along with his wife Sita and brother Laxmana stayed here for some time during their period of exile. Panchavati derives its name from the five banyan ("Vad") trees here.
Sita Gumpha
Literally, Sita Gumpha means a cave. Sita Gumpha cave is located near the Panchavati. It is one of the major attractions of the Nasik city, There is a narrow staircase which is used to enter the Sita Gumpha caves. In the caves, one can see the idols of Lord Rama, Sita, and Laxmana. It is believed that, it was from here, Ravana kidnapped Sita.
