How to reach Aurangabad
Aurangabad is a very famous tourist destination in Maharashtra. Aurangabad city has a number of places of tourist attraction. The most famous are the Ajanta and Ellora caves. People from all over the world come here to enjoy the beauty of Ajanta and Ellora caves. There are other famous tourist destinations like Bibi Ka Maqbara, Panchakki, Ghrishneshwar temple, Daulatabad fort and Aurangabad Ruins.

Bibi ka Maqbara is a replica of the Taj Mahal of Agra. It is a beautiful monument build in memory of Rabia Durani, the wife of Aurangzeb. The water mill is an engineering marvel. The water brought from 6 kms away in earthen pipes drives the mill or Panchakki. There is a shrine of Baba Shah Muzaffar nearby Who was the spiritual guru of Aurangzeb.
Aurangabad caves are located at a distance of 5 kms from the city. These caves are situated amidst the hills and date back to 3AD. These caves show Tantrik influence evident from the iconography and Architectural designs.
Aurangabad is well connected to all the major cities from Maharashtra and other states. The roads are excellent and the rail connection.
By Air :Aurangabad has an international airport and it is known as Chikkalthana Airport. Aurangabad airport is has connecting flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Udaipur and Hyderabad.
By rail :Aurangabad has a good network of railways since the times of the Nizams (1899). It is connected to the important railway stations in the country. Aurangabad railway station is located on Kachiguda - Manmad section of southern rail. It is also a link between Secunderabad and Mumbai. Aurangabad has direct rail connectivity to places like Manmad, Nanded, Parbhani, Parli Vaijanath, Osmanabad, Latur, Daund, and many other places. Many prestigious and well-known trains like Ajanta Express, Sachkhand Express, jan Shatabdi Express, Kakinada Express, etc pass through this station.
By Road : Aurangabad is connected by important state and national highways. National Highway NH-21, Dhule-Solapur passes through Aurangabad. It is well connected to places like Pune, Nagpur, Solapur, Beed, Mumbai and other important places. Some roads to Aurangabad are upgraded to four lane national highways.
There are a number of intercity buses plying from Aurangabad to other cities on a regular basis. There are buses operated by Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation or by private bus service providers.
There are buses which provide intra-city service from Aurangabad. Aurangabad Municipal Transport covers most parts of the city. These buses ply to different places including the outskirts and adjoining suburbs.
