    Bikaner is the blooming desert town in Rajasthan state. This place is dotted with scores of sand dunes and the city stands on the slightly raised ground fortified by a 7 km massive wall. The city boasts of one of the largest camel research and breeding farm in the world. Some very dazzling fairs and festivals here draw many tourists from all over the world.

    Bikaner is one of the largest districts of Rajasthan state. Bikaner is a district situated in the northwest of the Rajasthan state. The city of Bikaner is the administrative headquarters of the Bikaner division. It was the capital of the princely state of Bikaner in olden days. The city of Bikaner was founded by Rao Bika in 1486. The Bikaner city is also referred as green city. The Ganga canal was completed in 1928 and the Indira Gandhi canal was completed in 1987. These supply water to agriculture and crops like mustard, cotton and wheat are grown. Other industries in Bikaner include the Bikaner wool, mining of gypsum, bentonite and plaster of paris.

    The Karni mata fair and Kapil muni fair are very famous. The state government organizes a camel festival and camel races along with many other cultural events. Fire dances are performed by the sidh people. All this is organized in the month of January.

    Bikaner is famous for its handicrafts and leather articles, Bikaneri wool, palaces and has Asia's biggest camel farm. About the notable places to visit are Bikaner fort, Bikaner palace and Bikaner rat temple.
