    National Park is located at the foothills of the Himalayas in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand. Being one of the oldest parks and one of the major wildlife destinations of India, it is quite popular amongst tourists. It is not only a favored destination amongst the domestic voyager but is equally cherished by foreign tourists. To cater to the ever rising inflow of the visitors, transportation has been improved immensely. Travelers can now avail of many modes of transport to reach the park.

    How to Reach Corbett National Park Corbett

    By Air: The national park does not have its own airstrip or helipad. Phoolbagh in Pantnagar is the nearest domestic airport, which is located about 80 kms from Jim Corbett National park. Pantnagar airport is well connected by metalled road to the park. Taxis and private cabs are easily available from Pantnagar airport to Corbett national park. They charge around Rs. 1000 for traveling to the park. Pantnagar is connected to Delhi with daily flights. Delhi is the nearest international airport and is about 300 kms away from the park. Delhi is well connected to most of the important foreign cities.

    By train: Ramnagar is the town closest to Jim Corbett National park and it has a railway station which is at a distance of 19 kms from the park. Ramnagar is the terminus of Delhi-Moradabad-Ramnagar broad gauge branch of North East Railway. The most convenient way to reach Jim Corbett National Park by train is by Ranikhet Express. The train departs from Old Delhi Railway Station. The Ranikhet Express plies between Delhi and Ramnagar. It is a daily overnight train connecting Delhi and Ramnagar. But one need to be careful while boarding this train since it bifurcates at Moradabad and extra coaches for Ramnagar are attached with this train. One part of the train goes to Kathgodam and other to Ramnagar. From Ramnagar, one has to opt for road journey either by bus or by taxis to reach the park.

    One can also opt for trains from Moradabad which is the nearest junction from where visitors can find trains to all parts of India.

    By Road : Road journey to Corbett is an equally good option as train and air travel. Infact, road journey can be more enjoyable as one can enjoy the landscape and beautiful scenery around. Dhikala, the main entry point of the park is about 300 kms from Delhi. The route from Delhi passes through Hapur- Moradabad- Ramnagar. Dhangarhi on the Ramnagar Ranikhet road is also one of the entry points and is 19 kms from Ramnagar. Another approach is from Kalagarh which can be accessed from Moradabad. Amdanda is another entrance to the park which is about 6 kms from Ramnagar.

    There are regular buses from Delhi and Lucknow to Ramnagar. Most people prefer to drive down to Corbett national park. It takes approximately 6 hours from Delhi. The route is through Gajraula- Moradabad- Kashipur-Ramnagar. Local transport coaches and jeeps can be hired from the national park office at Ramnagar.
