How to reach Kolhapur

It takes about 1 hr to reach Kolhapur from Mumbai. Planes from other places like Belgaum, Pune are also available. Pune airport is the nearest airport to Kolhapur.
By Train :Kolhapur is well-connected o various places by train. There are many trains to Kolhapur from Mumbai, Tirupati, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Pune, etc. The Chatrapati Sahu Terminus Station also has trains from Miraj and southern parts of India.
Road :Kolhapur is situated on the Pune – Bangalore highway No 4. The road is in excellent condition and there are green sugarcane fields on both the sides of the Road. There are regular state travel buses to Kolhapur from all the important cities in Maharashtra and Karnataka. There are many private deluxe buses, semi luxury buses to Kolhapur from places in Goa, Solapur, etc.
