    Sojat city is a tehsil headquarter in the Pali district of Rajasthan state. Sojat city is situated on the left bank of the Surki River near Pali town. During ancient times it was known as Tamravati. There is a fort in Sojat city which has a big water reservoir. There are many temples in the fort like the Sejal Mata temple, Chaturbhuj Temple. There is an old and beautiful temple of Chamunda Mata on a hill top and has beautiful views.     Sojat city is world famous for its mehandi or henna powder. Sojat city is India's largest producer of mehandi and more than 70% of the production is exported all over the world. The mehandi plantations are really worth a visit, as you will not find it anywhere. The leaves of this plant are squashed and the paste is used to decorate the palms. Many tourists that happen to come here on their way to Udaipur of Mount Abu take a break here and apply mehandi to their palms and feet.
