Nicknamed as the Garden city of India, the IT hub Bangalore is one of the up coming tourist destinations in India. Also hailed as Bengaluru in the mother tongue Kannada, Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka. Regarded as the third most populated city, the geographical location of Bangalore is on the south eastern part of Karnataka or more precisely in the Deccan Plateau. The history of the city dates back to 1537, when it was believed that Kempe Gowda I built a mud castle in the city to be referred as the province of the Vijayanagara Empire and eventually laid the foundation of the modern city of Bangalore.

Once the main centre of British rule in India, Bangalore with time grew up to be one of the most important centers of technological advancement. The development phase started right after 1947 with India gaining independence from the British Raj. Bangalore soon became one of the most sought after regions for manufacturing units of heavy industries like machinery, aerospace, machine tools and telecommunications. With the software industry getting boost post liberalization, Bangalore emerged as a leader in the information technology scenario. The name Silicon Valley of India hence is greatly justified.

Covering an estimated area of 741 kilometer square, Bangalore enjoys a soothing climate. The presence of a number of parks, historical landmarks, temples gives enough sight seeing opportunities to the visiting tourist. With the emergence of high class malls like Garuda Mall and Forum Mall and popular shopping streets like Bannerghatta Road and Brigade Road, Bangalore is a shopper's paradise.
