How to Reach Bangalore
Being one of the major IT cities, Bangalore, or the Silicon Valley of India, is easy to reach. Air, rail and road connectivity is good and Bangalore is directly linked with some of the major domestic and international destinations. As such, the influx of domestic and international tourists is great in this city.Bangalore is served by the HAL Airport which is owned and operated by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. The Bangalore airport handles both international and domestic flights. While national carriers like Kingfisher Airlines, Spice Jet, Go Air, Air Deccan and Jet Airways have direct flights to and from the city. Air Deccan has its head quarters in the city and provides for the greatest number of flights. A new airport is supposed to come up in Devanahalli. After the inauguration of this international airport, the flight connectivity to this city is thought to increase by great proportions.
Indian Railways provides for a major share of the train connectivity to this IT city. A good number of long distance trains are available to cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. The Rajdhani Express connects New Delhi with Bangalore. The Lal Bagh Express connects Bangalore to Chennai.
Well maintained national highways provide for better road connectivity between Bangalore and other cities like Mumbai and Chennai. Prime destinations within the state are also connected by a good number of roads. The city roads are dominated by the buses run by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation. The BMTC also operates AC Volvo buses to different destinations. The main bus terminus is located opposite the City Railway Station.
