The capital city of India, New Delhi is one of the many historical destinations, without a tour of which an Indian trip might seem to be incomplete-both for an overseas visitor as well as for an Indian national. A place famous for its historical monuments and equally infamous for its climate, still remains to be travelers delight. Easy to reach from all corners of the world, Delhi definitely enjoys convenience of connectivity- air, rail and road.

The main air terminal for the city is called the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The airport has three terminals. The domestic terminals are called 1A and 1B whereas the Terminal 2 is used both for domestic and international arrivals and departures. The domestic terminals are also known as Palam Airport. Terminal 1A handles flights operated by Go Air, Kingfisher and Indian Airlines. On the other hand, the Terminal 1B handles flights by other national carriers except these three. The Terminal 2 takes care of all the international flights and domestic flights by Air India.

Delhi is well connected by a superb network of rail connections. Delhi has three main rail stations. One is the Delhi Junction also called the Old Delhi railway station, the New Delhi Station and the third one is located at Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station. From all these stations, long distance trains are available for all the other cities. The super fast Rajdhani Express connects Delhi with Kolkata.

Good conditions of the roads facilitate traveling by bus to and from Delhi to other destinations across the country. For hilly areas especially, buses are the best way to commute from Delhi. Both private operators and State run services are available from Delhi. The Delhi Transport Corporation is the major operator in the capital city. Tourists inclined to take a bus ride can head for any of the three bus terminus. For destinations in the Eastern direction, buses are available from Anand Vihar ISBT. The Kashmere Gate ISBT bus station is the largest of all and provides for buses in the Northern direction. Buses to Nepal are available from here. Lastly, the Sarai Kale Khan ISBT located near the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station provides buses heading towards the south.
