How to Reach Khajuraho
A quaint little village in Madhya Pradesh, Khajuraho is well known for the numerous ancient temples dating back several years in history. Khajuraho is situated in the Chhatarpur district which is located nearly 620 kilometers from the capital city of Delhi.Despite being hailed as a village, Khajuraho enjoys the services of its own airport. Located at a distance of 5 kilometers from the city, tourists will find flights operated by Jet Airways and Indian Airlines to and from Khajuraho to destinations like Varanasi, Kathmandu and Delhi.
Khajuraho is well connected to other cities in India via a good network of trains. Two rail stations serve Khajuraho. One is Jhansi and the other is Satna. Satna rail station situated on the Mumbai-Allahabad main line however is the nearest one and the closest one to reach. The distance between Khajuraho and Satna is 117 kilometers. Jhansi on the other hand is 225 kilometers away and is situated on the Delhi-Bangalore main line. From Delhi it will take nearly 6 hours to reach Jhansi. However the other rail junctions close to Khajuraho are Mahoba and Harpalpur.
If road travel does not dread you, then tourists can also avail the bus services that ply between Jhansi, Satna and Khajuraho. By bus time taken to reach the place is around 5 to 6 hours. Regular bus services are available from Khajuraho to places like Harpalpur, Chhatarpur, Jabalpur, Mahoba, Indore, Bhopal, Agra, Allahabad, Varanasi and Gwalior. Taxi services are also available between Khajuraho and Satna.
