How to Reach Mount Abu
The quaint and beautiful hill station of Mount Abu can be reached conveniently from other states. Connectivity to other places across the country and within the state is good. A good number of domestic flights and trains serve Mount Abu, there by making it one of the most notable hill stations in India.The nearest airport serving Mount Abu is at Udaipur. The distance between the two is nearly 185 kilometers. Many domestic carriers have scheduled flights to Udaipur. From there, tourists can avail any of the local transports available to reach Mount Abu. Taxis or hired cars are generally available at the airport.
If you are traveling by train, then the nearest railhead is at Abu Road. To reach the station from Mount Abu, time taken is generally two hours. A good number of long distance trains belonging to the Northern and Western Railways serve this station as Abu Road lies on the Indian Railways route which connects Ahmedabad and Delhi. By train, Mount Abu can be reached from Mumbai, Jodhpur and Jaipur.
Road conditions are also good and Mount Abu is linked to places across the states via a number of National Highways and small roads. Mount Abu lies close to two major National Highways- NH 8 and NH14. Mount Abu is linked to NH8 via a small road. NH 8 connects the hill station with Jodhpur and Delhi. Apart from traveling by taxi or a private car, tourists can also opt for the deluxe buses that are operated by the Rajasthan Roadways. These buses ply between Jaipur and Abu Road to Mount Abu. Other places from where Mount Abu can be reached consist of Udaipur, Bundi and Ajmer.
