A quaint and serene hill station situated in the Idukki District of Kerala, Munnar is a place that can be easily reached, thanks to the good condition of the roads. The southern state of Kerala can be reached from the major metropolitan cities and other important locations across the country via a wide network of air and rail routes. Kerala has three major airports which handles a large number of national and international carriers. Munnar being a major tourist destination is linked by four major roads-Thekkady road, Kochi road, Marayoor road and Top Station road. All the roads are well maintained and connect Munnar to other places within Kerala. A number of hired cars and buses are available which the visiting tourists can avail in order to reach Munnar.
Munnar can be reached from Cochin, Coimbatore, Thiruvananthapuram, Madurai, Ernakulam, Thekkady, and Palani. From Cochin (Kochi), Munnar is situated at a distance of nearly 140 kilometers. Two places fall on the way- one is Kothamangalam and the other is Adimali. Munnar is very close to the town of Adimali, which is situated just 30 kilometers away from Munnar. From Coimbatore however, Munnar is situated at a distance of 150 kilometers.
