The pokhran fort was built in the 14th century citadel and is known as Balagarh. The traditional jharokas and the grand turrets give a peep into the royalty and reflect the fusion of the Rajput and Mughal style of Architecture. The three storied havelis are a major tourist attraction along with the Kailash Tekri temple and Bhairav's caves. The largest library in Asia is housed here. There are other places of tourist importance like the Sathlmer and narasar ponds, Hingalaj temple, Shakti sthal and many more. This place is well connected to other places in Rajasthan and you can easily reach it by air, rail or road.
By Air: The nearest airport to Pokran is the Jodhpur Airport (2 km) which is connected by regular flights to the places like Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, etc
By Rail: The nearest railway station to Pokran is the Jodhpur railway station which is on the western railway broad gauge. Jodhpur is linked to many cities like Agra, Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur and Ahmedabad by express and passenger trains.
By Road: Pokran is well connected by various cities with a good network of roads.
