Sariska is located in the Alwar district of Rajasthan state. The Sariska Tiger Reserve is the prime tourist attraction here. Originally, this place was the hunting preserve of the Maharajas of Alwar. At present, it is declared a tiger reserve and is a part of Indian project Tiger. There are other rare and exotic animals like Nilgai, Sambar, Chital, Porcupine and Striped Hyena. You can also spot some rare species of birds here. The forest area has dry and deciduous trees like Dhak, Acacia and others.

There are many places of excursions from Sariska. There are several interesting and historical places in the vicinity. Kanwadi fort is a place worth visiting. Emperor Aurangzeb had imprisoned his own brother there. Neelkanth mandir dates back to the 6th century.

There are a number of budget hotels available at reasonable rates and is now in ruins. The ruins are an important historical site. There is a Palace called as Sariska Palace that was built by the Maharajas of Alwar. This is now converted into a heritage hotel where you can enjoy a royal stay. Sariska is reachable and is well connected to other tourist destinations in the country.

By Air: The nearest airport to Sariska is the Jaipur airport situated about 107 kms away from Sariska. It is well connected to places like Mumbai, Jaipur, Jodhpur, etc. you can take a taxi further or take a bus ride to Sariska.

By Rail: You can take any of the trains to reach Sariska. Shatabdi Express from Delhi to Alwar or Ajmer. Super fast express from Delhi to Alwar or Ajmer. Intercity Express from Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Alwar-Jaipur. Marudhar Express from Varanasi-Alwar_Jodhpur, Mandore Express from Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Alwar-Jodhpur.

By Road: Sariska is about 200 kms from Delhi and 107 kms from Jaipur. You can conveniently drive from both the places. There are a number of buses that ply from Delhi to Jaipur and go via Alwar.

You can reach Sariska by road, as the roads are very good. You can travel from Jaipur and reach Sariska in 3-4 hours. There are comfortable Deluxe buses from Jaipur and you can also avail of the regular bus services that link Alwar and other key destinations.
