It is called as the 'Open Art Gallery of Rajasthan' and many people from all over visit it to get a glimpse of the rich culture of the place.

Havelis of Shekhwati are exceptionally beautiful and painted. The fresco paintings adorn the walls of the havelis and there are intricately carved windows. Most havelis have mirror work and paintings decorated with gold or silver leaf.
Mandawa is also famous for its beautiful havelis. There is a beautiful archway decorated with Lord Krishna and his heard of cows which lead to the main bazaar. There is a fort and a castle which gives you a beautiful view of the place. Chokhani, saraf, goenka, ladai and gulabrai havelis are the most beautiful havelis in Mandawa and are decorated with the finest murals on the exterior as well as the internal walls.
Dundlod is located in the heart of Shekhwati region. Dundlod is very famous for its fort and havelis. The Divan e Khana of the fort is furnished with stained glass windows and very beautiful paintings. The fort dates back to the 17th century and has now been converted into a hotel.
Sikar fort is a site worth visiting and has a market, clock tower and a painted havelis like the Biyani, Murarka and Somani. One haveli is painted in blue like the typical Chinese blue and is a beautiful place to visit. The Jain temples of Gopinath, Raghunath and Madan Mohan are worth a visit.
You can take excursions to places like Khetri that has beautiful fort, temples and paintings. Mukandgarh has a good handicraft market and you can buy some very pretty textile here.
