The Mughal Gardens
The Mughal Emperors laid the foundation of the gardens here. The gardens are- Nishat, Chesmashahi and Shalimar. They have cascading fountains, flamboyant flowerbeds, terraced lawns and the spectacular sight of Dal Lake in front of it. These gardens look equally beautiful even in biting cold, when flowers feel the chill and do not open their buds.
Hazratbal Mosque
This mosque is wonderfully white. It is believed that a hair from the beard of the prophet is enshrined here. The name of the mosque justifies this belief. Women have to be very careful as they can enter only the first part of the mosque. If you are fond of fresh food and deep fried stuff, then, take a walk through the adjacent market area.
Ziarati Hazrati Youza Asouph
This is a tomb that is also known as Roza Bal. It stands at a distance of 150 mts north-west of Dastgir Saheb mosque and shrine.
Shankaracharya Mandir
This temple is situated on a hill top. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. You can reach there by a car or a taxi. You are not allowed to take mobile phones or cameras in the temple. Before yo8 climb up the hill, you have to deposit the liquor and cigarettes, if you have with the police.
Pari Mahal
This fairy palace gives you a wonderful vista of the city.
Shah-E-Hamdan
This is a shrine that was built in 1395.It is assumed that it holds the secrets of Allah. It was reconstructed on 1732.This wooden shrine is also known as Khanqah-e-Molla.
Charar-E-Sharif
This is a shrine that has replaced a 600 year old wooden shrine. The old shrine was burnt by the militants.
Lakes In Kashmir
Wular Lake, Manasbal Lake and Nagin Lake are the lakes of Kashmir that ask for a visit and admiration as you can not stop yourself from appreciating the enchanting beauty of these lakes. Dal Lake is the head of all in terms of beauty and a joy ride in the 'shikara'. This revered mosque is located at Nowhatta and adds to the attraction of the Muslim tourists here.
