    Trekking Kamshet-Karla Caves in Maharashtra

    1. Day 1
    2. Kamshet-Bedsa Caves
    There are 3 options to go to the Bedsa Caves-
    1. Easy Option - Walk to NH4 from the Kamshet station. Take the trail to Kale Colony. Now, climb a small ghat. Then descend the hill. Tread till Bedsa village. From here, move to the hill's base. Now a path takes you up to Bedsa Caves.
    2. Moderate Option-Tread from Kamshet to Pawna Dam and Kale Colony. Now move to the microwave tower. From microwave hill's base, a path descends the hill. It goes left and takes you to a pass having a Wageshwar temple. Walk along the ridge for about a km. From the ridge's end, Bedsa Caves are to south. The path follows the hill contours before you descend eastwards. Bedsa Caves are half way down the hill.
    3. Tough Option - Walk back from Kamshet along the railway line/road running parallel to it. A trail takes you to the hill and brings at Mumbai-Pune highway. Cross it and climb a spur. You'll see a hill with microwave tower in front. Follow the ridge's crest to the base of this hill which brings you to the route to the caves. Follow it and reach the caves.

    2. Bedsa Caves-Bedsa Hill-Visapur Fort

    Tread on the steps cut into rock cut face coming up the hill. Walk through the criss-crossed paths and reach the base of the hill. From here, move to Bedsa Hill facing the pass. From here, the routes (both left and right) will bring you to Malewadi (Visapur) village. Alternatively, you can ascent the path to the hill top. Walk past Bedsa Hill to the plateau's end. The route down takes you to Visapur Fort's base. Tread little more to reach a flat clearing which is a nice campsite. It continues along the Fort's base and takes you to the fort. Ample campsites are there.

    2. Visapur Fort-Lohagad Fort

    Tread across the two hillocks that act as a center of the Visapur Fort. Now catch a descent leading to Lohagad Fort. Following the trail you'll come to a jeep track leading to a col between Lohagad and Visapur forts. Lohagad Wadi is 1.5 km far. You'll find accommodation at Lohagad Wadi.

    Return option to Lonavla-Walking around Lohagad Fort and along the hill's crest and coming to a pass is very exciting. Move right/north-west from here, catch the road to Lonavla.

    2. Lohagad Fort-Bhaja Caves-Karla Caves-Lonavla

    Move back to Lohagad Wadi through the only route which brought you in it. Then, head to a road between the two forts which brings you down to a spur. At the spur's bottom, the path brings you to Bhaja Village. Now walk up to the Bhaja Caves. Return via Bhaja village to Malavi Station. If you want to end here, catch a local train to Lonavla/carry on to Karla Caves. Cross NH4 from Malavi and tread to Karla Caves. Move to Lonavla through bus/auto easily available.
