    Namdapha is spread over 1,985 sq. km. It is a place which still folds in it many things to be explored. Nature has carefully tucked it in eastern Arunachal Pradesh. Namdapha is most probably the most bio-diverse part of the Indian sub-continent. It is the only Project Tiger Reserve and amongst the few National Parks in India. Here you have to explore only on foot. Namdapha National Park Trek is meant for keen nature and wildlife enthusiasts.

    Trekking Namdapha National Park

    1. Day 1
    2. Deban-Gibbon's Land-Deban

    Trail to Gibbon's Land on the road back to Miao/ turn back little earlier. Or get a taxi to drop you to Gibbon's Land and tread back to Deban. In the area around Gibbon's Land, have a glimpse of some birds. Return to Deban Rest House. You can camp here.

    1. Day 2
    2. Deban-Haldibari

    You have to cross the Neo Dhing River today. After crossing it, you incline for about 300m, before you walk along a ridge to reach Haldibari. The walk is made more amazing with birdcalls and the sight of wonderful birds. You reach Haldibari in the noon time. You can camp here.

    2. Haldibari-Hornbill Glade

    From Haldibari, Hornbill Glade is at a distance of 5 km. The trek is a gentle one. Hornbill is correctly named as Rufous-necked hornbill is easily visible here. Hornbill Glade is an open patch with two large sheds.

    2. Hornbill Glade-Bulbulia

    While moving to Bulbulia, you will notice the terrain getting more undulating with streams flowing across it. On the way, you will find beautiful birds and thick vegetation. Bulbulia offers a spectacular sight of a large aquifer below with many natural springs (bulbule).The place derives its name from here only.

    2. Bulbulia-Ranijheel-Bulbulia

    From Bulbulia, take the track to Ranijheel. On this way you face some steep slopes on muddy paths. Trail is also broken at places but is walk able. After walking for 3 km, you enter a thick and long bamboo patch. Be careful of the wild elephants. It is wise to stay close to your forest guard. You will also come across a multitude of magnificent birds here. Stumbling across the Ranijheel will take you to the area of white-winged duck. You can also cross Namdapha River to complete a circuit back to Deban via Camera Point.

    2. Bulbulia-Deban

    Today, cover the entire distance back to the Neo Dhing River and cross to Deban. It is wise to reach the river bank when there is still light as it will avoid many risks. Spend the night at Forest Rest House at Deban.

    Namdapha National Park Trek is perhaps the best experience gained anywhere on the Indian soil. It also provides an advantage of many pre-designated campsites unlike other treks. This area poses a great number of challenges in front you like heavy rain, mudslides and a vast host of leeches. It is extremely rich in flora and fauna and thus don't forget to carry a pair of good binoculars to catch the amazing beauty spread all around here.
